Lies! Lies! Lies!

Crinklechips Never more his father's son than on this release. This is an album full of political musings and a big atheistic anthem near the end. I think it's safe to say you wont enjoy this album unless you lean to the left, even if only slightly.

Nick is joined by Port Erin on this offering, another excellent local (to me) band that I highly recommend.

It's more caustic than his usual output. I like it a lot. It's like a continuation of the dark half of Riven.

Favorite track: Have A Nice Deity.

350 Million reasons why Written on the side of the bus We're going to spend it on the health of the nation For the good of all of us Lies! Lies! Lies! We’re going to build a northern powerhouse For the rust belt communities And then we’re going to share the money out With the hard working families Lies! Lies! Lies! We’re going to be the greenest government The world has ever seen We’ll be the champions of the vulnerable Oh and we’re ending child poverty It's always the same people pay for your god damned Lies! Lies! Lies! We're going to wield the 'simple sword of truth' See-through transparency We’re going to make this country great again Get on the bus and we’ll set you free Lies! Lies! Lies! It's always the same people pay for your lies It's always the same people pay for your lies It's always the same people pay for your god damned Lies! Lies! Lies!

Daddy was a stone cold Joe In his Beach Haven white as snow He always came up trumps, you know? Keeping those dark devils down, below It’s all gold baby, it’s all gold I'm not talking 'bout a nuclear war Or the reasons anyone would push the button for I'm not talking 'bout the end of the world I’m talking 'bout all the boys and the girls Nobody loves you and you don’t know why Nobody wants you and it makes you cry You got hold of some of daddy’s roll A modest million or so Time rolled by and lo and behold Everybody could be bought and sold It’s all gold baby, it’s all gold I'm not talking 'bout a nuclear war Or the reasons anyone would push the button for I'm not talking 'bout the end of the world I’m talking 'bout all the boys and the girls Nobody loves you and you don’t know why Nobody wants you and it makes you cry Nobody loves you and you can’t think why You’ve got it all and it’s all a lie You've got everything and it's all a lie

I’m Leaving the club - fizzy-headed on the street I’m Leaving the club - with my head between my knees I'm leaving the club - it was never love They said that she was always straight bananas And lies were written in a ring of stars above Now my head's all dirty rivers of blood Leaving the club Full of fight, full of fear Leaving the club - I'm the lone musketeer I'm leaving the club - It was never love They said that she was always straight bananas And lies were written in a ring of stars above Now my head's all dirty rivers of blood Leaving the club Is it true they let me do what I have done? Could there ever be another - was she the one? And who would love the fool I have become? Leaving the club - Feeling sick all alone Leaving the club - I can't make it on my own Now I know - It was really love I knew that she was always straight bananas And love was written in a ring of stars above Now my future's all dirty rivers of blood Leaving the club - What have I done?

Black Friday 04:15
So this is it Some kind of culmination The zenith, the pinnacle, the realisation Of millennia of dreams Of countless generations Is this the masterpiece of our civilisation? Every one of us And the corporations Sharing in the rewards This is it, the perfect combination This is everything we’ve worked towards Black Friday - bringing people together Black Friday - and the passion is real Black Friday - it’s the bestest ever Black Friday - everything is a steal So here we are United one and all On the edge of town at the shopping mall In a common goal All ages, all colours and creeds Swallowing lies because we want to believe Our desires turned into needs Millennia of dreams Collections themes Stepping stones Connecting me To my shiny things I will fight for my things I will fight for my dreams I will fight you for my dreams

Tiina 04:29
Tiina - two ‘i's - that’s how the spelling goes Tiina - two ‘i’s - two ski poles in the snow Please forgive my countrymen They know not what they do Yet for every million crying, “Out!" Another million stands with you Tiina don’t you dream that we’d let you go Tiina don’t you dream that we’d let you go Please forgive my countrymen They know not what they do Lied to, deceived, misguided, misled The many still serve the few Tiina... You registered your interest in an English man Nigh on 40 years ago Came to live and work in his pleasant land Not a simple thing to do Please forgive my countrymen They know not lies from true But for every million dying out A bright young million stands with you Tiina - Don’t you dream that we’d let you go

So it turns out there is a magic money tree But it won’t grow for you and me It’s not for fighting poverty In the gig economy It's not for sprinklers in the towers It’s for clinging on to power Look there I spy there is a magic money tree And it’s growing from the seed Of a dark philosophy For a lost majority And it’s on their land, it's not on ours It’s for clinging on to power So it turns out there is a magic money tree And let there be no doubt it’s not for you and me It’s for the 'democratic' aristocracy The ugly fruit will buy you roughly 10 MPs It’s got the strangest, beguiling flowers The fragrance lies; it feeds on power power power power power power power So it turns out there is a magic money tree A magic money tree And it’s on their land, it's not on ours It’s for clinging on to power

I just woke up in the back of the car Where are we now? We must have got pretty far Hold on, hold on, everything looks the same No deja vu, really nothing’s changed We’ve been this road forever, but we haven’t got anywhere yet At every turning we should have got off I swear Waiting at the lights Waiting at the lights.. Who the hell is driving this thing? - We keep turning right Round the block, round the bend - Keep turning right Wrong again wrong again wrong again - We keep turning right Oh no we're back at the beginning Driver! Driver! Stop the car Where are we now? We haven't got very far The sat nav lies and we threw away the map I think I’ll walk, let me off the charabanc We’ve been this road forever, but we haven’t got anywhere yet At every turning we should have got off I swear Waiting at the lights Waiting at the lights.. Who the hell is driving this thing? - We keep turning right Round the block, round the bend - We keep turning right Wrong again wrong again wrong again - We keep turning right Oh no we're back at the beginning - We keep turning right Round in circles here we go - We keep turning right All around the god damned globe - Keep turning right Wrong again wrong again wrong again - Keep turning right Back to where it all began - We keep turning right

Red rain - Hidden under brolly - The ‘good' fight - More lolly You’ve got god on your side - I’ve got dinosaur bones You’ve got a place to hide - I’m out here all on my own You say you’ve seen the light that’s ‘cause you’re coming from the darkness and the night The creationists toil and trouble, but all the fear and dread only makes life worse Stinking out our bubble hanging by a thread in the universe Brother Cain - On a jolly - Petomaine - Nock volley Cockaigne - Old folly - Separate - From the trolley You’ve got god on your side - I’ve got dinosaur bones You’ve got a place to hide - I’m out here all on my own You say you’ve seen the light that’s ‘cause you’re coming from the darkness and the night The creationists toil and trouble, but all the fear and dread only makes life worse Stinking out our bubble hanging by a thread in the universe You’ve got god on your side - I’ve got dinosaur bones You’ve got a place to hide - I’m out here all on my own You’ve got eternal life - I’m just hoping for a little more time You've got your mysterious ways - I got explanations bona fide You've got a book of stories - I’ve got satellites beyond the sky You've got a vague sign to the promised land - I've got a map of a butterfly's eye You've got absolute morality - I can progress within my time Your words championed slavery - Then the Lord seemed to changed his mind Your crazy book has shellfish proscribed - Nor a man with another man lie But I saw you pulling prawns tonight - And eye the choir singing up the aisle You've got the one true dog on your side - Hounding kids in new schools with old lies You made the world 4000 years ago - I've got evidence from the edge of time You got immaculate misconceptions - I just went forth and multiplied You turned water into wine - I used fermented grapes to make mine You used to do miracles all the time - 'fore I acquired my enquiring mind You say that you have seen the light - That’s 'cause your coming from the darkness and the night The creationists toil and trouble, but all the fear and dread only makes life worse Stinking out our bubble hanging by a thread in the universe I have evolved It’s too late Chrch, Chrch, Chrch, Chrch, Chrch, Chrch, Chrch, Chrch,

Dark Forces 04:06
The act is done And a warrior surveys the land below The summit of a body-strewn hill Double-bladed bloody axe in his hands Victorious, lord of these lands Corpses carrion for the crows Blood sealed deeds and a barley mow People loot the vanquished foes And look to the warrior Look to the warrior for protection from Dark Forces The warrior-landlord lets the people stay Men and women praise him as their children play In the fortress with his fighting band Safeguarded they sally forth to the hinterland A beacon of protection from Dark Forces A bad year, crops fail, hunger in the citadel, fear grips Talk of freedom, a new Eden, everything slips Foment, talk of injustice and the power at his fingertips Something tells the landlord The taste of reckoning is what is on his lips Clever landlord, builds a printing press Words circulate, people talk of another day Democracy, congress They go along with what the word says: Vote for the landlord Vote for the landlord Vote for the landlord for protection from Dark Forces The people are not satisfied Won't buy the lies that lie between the lines Revolt! And the mob is made to rise Justice on their minds and in their eyes And the landlord-warrior faces the facts Waits at the summit of cemetery hill For the start of the act With a double-bladed blood-stained axe A double-bladed blood-stained axe for protection from Dark Forces

Smaller the world each and every day Learning to share the common space Difference teaches and elevates One look in the eye drives the lies away Build your frontiers build your walls Time tells the tale of how they fall Global nation whatever you say Global nation happening anyway Global nation whatever you do Global nation coming for you Conservative minds can't abide the change They fight the rate, but can't fight the range But time moves on and blows time away Closer the world each and every day My eyes may not see what my dream relates But my heart knows it's coming and celebrates With gladness I give all my voice's weight To the power of any love humankind makes
